A decade long study in Belgium found that patients living within a 117-meter radius of a large road were twice as likely to reject their lungs and the mortality rate was twice as high compared to patients who lived further from large roads. According to the results, living ten times the distance from a *large road equals 43% less chance of rejection and 28 % less chance of death.
